Our Training Squads
All Year round including School Holidays
Our training squads and schedule are designed to give the best outcomes for runners at every level. Training with Athletes of similar ability helps our runners to improve in a competitive yet highly positive environment.
Development Squad: Monday/Wednesday/Fridays 4 – 4:45pm (Coach Warren) catering for Juniors who are new to running who want to develop fitness and improve their running technique. These sessions include a mixture of Sprint and Middle Distance running as well as skills, agility and strength training complimenting team and ball sports.
Junior Elite Squad: Monday/Wednesday/Fridays 4 – 5pm (Coach Jordan and Warren) catering for Juniors who are serious about their running and may have already represented to District or Regional Level in Cross Country, Track, Triathlon or Surf Lifesaving events through School or Club Programs. They will train to a structured program that includes a mixture of Sprint and Middle Distance running as well as skills, agility and strength training. They will be transitioned into more regular racing moving toward representative level.
Senior Elite Squad: Monday and Friday 4:45 – 5:45pm (Coach Jordan and Warren) catering for Juniors who have already represented to State or National Level in Cross Country, Track, Triathlon or Surf Lifesaving events through School or Club Programs. These runners will be provided with a structured monthly program that includes a mixture of Sprint and Middle Distance running as well as skills, agility and strength training. The program may be adjusted to suit individual training needs around specific and targeted Races.
SUMMER SESSIONS - Daylight Saving Months
Bike Squad: Tuesday and Thursday 4:00 - 5:15pm at Heffron Bike Track (meet at the end of Des Renford Aquatic Centre carpark) or Centennial Park catering for Juniors competing or wanting to compete in triathlon and biathlon racing. The session includes group track riding up to 20km followed by technical skills practice including turning and braking, and transition.
Sand Session: Tuesday 6:00am at Coogee Beach (meet in front of Coogge Surf Club) catering for Athletes competing or wanting to compete in Surf Lifesaving and Nippers sand events including 1 and 2km beach runs, Beach Sprints and Flags. Sessions include technique correction for soft sand running.
Clovelly Beach Run/Swim Sessions:
Great for those training for triathlon or surf events these sessions take place every second Friday at 6:15pm at Clovelly Beach. Meet in front of Clovelly Surf Club.
